Senior Investment Officer Betty Tafel recently celebrated her 30th anniversary working with Haverford Trust. We sat down with Betty to take a look back on her time here thus far, highlight some of her fondest moments, and congratulate her on this incredible milestone. We thank Betty for 30 years of hard work, dedication, and service to our clients. We look forward to many more!

What position did you have when you first started at Haverford?

My first position at Haverford was as Portfolio Assistant and Assistant to Binney Wietlisbach.

What has working at Haverford done for you personally or professionally?

Personally, I have met some of my closest friends over the many years working at Haverford. Professionally, Haverford has given me the support needed to serve our clients and have time for my family.

What advice do you have for new team members just starting out in their careers?

My advice is to remember that everyone makes mistakes. Take ownership of your errors, correct them and learn from them.

What has kept you at Haverford for so many years?

What has kept me at Haverford is the sense of family. Haverford is a small company with a big heart. I cannot be more thankful to George, Binney, and Joe for their kind leadership, sense of values, and hard work ethic.

What are you most proud of during your time here?

I am proud of how hard I work for our clients and also, very importantly, all our team members. I work very well with others and I have years of experience. I am a team member that others look to when they need assistance. I certainly do not know all of the answers, but knowing who to go to get them is important. One person cannot get a job done, you need a team. And if the team does not work well together, then no one is successful.
