The Haverford Trust Company, a private firm providing wealth management, trust and estate administration, banking services, financial planning, solutions for nonprofits and retirement plan services, recently announced James Kane has joined the firm as Vice President & Director of Human Resources. In his role, Kane is now responsible for overseeing the firm’s human resources function, including strategy and policy, talent management and professional development, recruiting, and benefits administration.

Prior to his new role, Kane served as Chief Personnel and Human Resources Officer for Delaware County in Media, PA where, in addition to his many daily responsibilities, he successfully implemented a new Compensation Plan for the first time in County history, led the recruitment of Chief Information Officer, Chief Sustainability Officer, Medical Advisor for Public Health, and Director of Elections, and added numerous, critical resources within the HR department. Previously, Kane served as Director of Executive Education at Rowan University and Vice President of Human Resources at Synovos. Kane also continues to serve as an Adjunct Instructor for Rice University in teaching the SHRM Learning System, which he has taught since 2006.

Kane received his Master’s degree in Human Resources Development and his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science at Villanova University, in addition to earning his SHRM – SCP. Committed to giving back to the community, Kane has volunteered for a number of organizations including My Career Transitions, Greater Valley Forge Human Resources Association and North Light Community Center.
